There’s nothing I love more than a classic movie. I grew up with Errol Flynn’s The Adventures of Robin Hood, and Psycho and Citizen Kane are two of my favourites. So I loved stumbling upon this quiz earlier. It’s a fun quiz which will tell you which classic movie you’re most like.
Could this have been any better for me? I love Indy; he has my sense of humour and I love a good adventure. What’s even more incredible is I got this result just as the trailer for the new film came out. How about that for a coincidence?
Seeing Indy again has really reminded me of just how much I love movies. I love the escapism and the thrill of a good movie, of being carried away by a good story and being inspired to think about something in a new way. Movies tell us so much about life and often when I think about something from the past, I’ll think about a movie or a scene, a reminder of what I was doing at that time.
I guess that makes me a big movie buff; I can’t imagine life without movies and I’m always watching a new DVD, showing friends a few gems they didn’t know about. And I haven’t been beaten at Scene It yet either, after 20 games!
What about you? Are you a movie buff? Do you have a favourite movie? If I picked one I’d have to say Metropolis or Schindler’s List. And of course Raiders would be up there too. 😉

sounds about right, though i haven’t heard of it, much less watch!
i like watching movies, but i won’t go to the cinema for sake of fulfilling the activity. if i had cable at home, i’d watch the ones which were blockbuster hits. but i think movies sometimes are best enjoyed when watched with someone, especially someone special. 🙂
CJ: Wow, Platoon, that brings back memories! It’s the film which was Charlie Sheen’s breakout role and I think it won the best picture Oscar in the late 80s… good film but unsettling. I like the battlefield of life bit, but I could see Mr Smith Goes to Washington suiting you too. 🙂
I’m like that with movies too. I see a few at the cinema, but most I see on DVD or cable these days… or through, um, other means. 😉 I like being able to watch it at my own pace, with a box of chocolates and sitting next to someone… it’s much better watched with someone else – and I love scaring them when we’re watching a really scary movie. 🙂
i also love movies, in fact i just posted top 10 movies of 2007 that everyone should see. One of my favorite movies of all time would be Jurassic Park. classic movies i liked alot were the fountainhead, time travel, wait until dark, and patch(or patches, i can’t remember) of blue. Definitely check those movie out.
CJ: Hi mauthor, thanks for the comment. Movies are such a wonderful window to look at the world and ourselves… and it’s quite amazing to see how far they’ve come in 100 years. I like Jurassic Park too, although I read the book first, so it’s hard to beat that.

HAHA… I do not see myself this way in the least. Although I did/do enjoy the movie, I would not say I am an Indy. I lead, what I think is a dull life, although most of my acquaintances, say the opposite. I am probably attracted to more reclusive personalities, though. As a child I had the most accidents in the family but it was because I am was not cautious but a thrill seeker. In my elder age, I am profoundly cautious in activities, relationships, travel etc.. whoa sounds like a recipe for depression. The most adventure I see nowadays is in my studio with paint. So high five cj writer, as much as such a quiz can be accurate, you and I apprear to be kindred spirits.
CJ: Ah, so you’re another Indy, Deb? Congrats! You’re in good company. 😉 I can see that a bit; I always thought Indy would have an appreciation for art, being a professor and all. And don’t we all just want a little adventure sometimes?
Interesting that you used to be accident prone. I tend to be as well, but it’s more because I’m thinking or am on my own than for any other reason… I’ve wondered if it’s something you can become more aware of as you get older, so it’s good to know you can.

CJ: Quizzes are great fun, aren’t they? And sometimes you can get some surprisingly detailed results; the Myers-Briggs personality tests have always seemed right on with me. I’ll have to check out tickle, I don’t know that one.

Interesting quiz, thanks for telling us about it. The “Indy” series is amongst my favorites – except the “Temple of Doom” of course.
The only other series that I liked as much as “Indy” is “Back to the Future”. Among the classic movies, “Sorry, Wrong Number” starring Barbara Stanwyck is unforgettable.
So, I’m a “Platoon”. With my awful memory, I should be glad I’m not a “Memento” 😀

I love Back to the Future as well. They’re both fun series, which we don’t get a lot of anymore… I’d hoped Pirates of the Caribbean might be one, but even Johnny Depp couldn’t save the sequels.
Ah, another Platoon. That seems to be a popular one; I actually got that too when I retook it for fun. I guess Memento would be better than Eternal Sunshine, though. 🙂

The best part of this quiz is the posters. I used to collect movie posters, before they were collectible. I still have dozens of them but good posters have been priced out of my reach now.

CJ: Hi Ella! Mr Smith Goes to Washington is a great one; doesn’t get much better than Frank Capra and James Stewart. It’s particularly apt for today’s media and it’s a great message, even if it’s hard to live up to sometimes.
The posters are great, aren’t they? I love the Raiders poster; it really jumps out at you. I’ve collected a few posters over the years and I managed to grab a couple of rare Star Wars ones on Ebay which I’m holding on to. They might be worth something when the 50th anniversary comes up. 😉
