The photography group I’m part of here in Newcastle did an interesting project this past weekend: rather than go on a photo walk or shoot some landscapes, we played with fire.
Basically our group organiser, Steve, played fire model for us and used a lighter and some kerosene to create small flames for us to shoot, and then we used steel wool and sparklers to create some interesting images with sparks.
It was a lot of fun and I was happy with how the images turned out. I particularly like the black and white ones, the flame really seems to pop in monochrome. Definitely something I plan to try again.
